Main Hall Bathroom

OK, so our really dated bathrooms. We have 3 bathrooms and all 3 are very 60s retro. I'll be doing a post on our master bathroom (which is super small by the way), but for now we'll focus on the main bathroom in the hallway. Take a look at it:

As you can see, the wallpaper is SILVER with pink flowers! I mean, what were they thinking in those days. Were they having disco parties in the bathroom too? Ugh, that was the first thing that had to go. Unfortunately, hubby and I decided that it wasn't yet time to totally remodel the bathroom. We had spent a good amount of money on the kitchen and floors, so we decided that we would just redecorate instead.

Thankfully, my stepdad came through for the hideous silver wallpaper. I had him tear off the wallpaper, plaster the walls, and paint the wall white. I, myself, painted the laminate mirror frame silver. Ugh, I hate the pink laminate bathroom vanity, but I guess I'll live with it for now until I'm ready to change it.

So decorating was going to be a challenge with the crazy pink tiles, so I went online browsing for people with similar bathroom situations. Thankfully I found http://retrorenovation.com/. They had awesome pics of ideas for decorating retro tiled bathrooms. Here are some inspiration pics:

I decided to go with a beachy theme and with blues, greens, and tans to go along with the pink tiles and gray tub/toilet. Here is the after:

I bought the basket, paintings, and other decorations from Ross. The shower curtain was from Burlington Coat Factory. The rugs were from Ross.

I hope this can help others with 60s styled bathrooms. You may not have the money or time to totally renovate, but with the right colors and other cool pieces, you can make the bathroom yours.

Anyway, what do you think?
